I'm just wondering if anybody experiences slow turbo spool up. when I have a car on a trailer behind me I hate to cross mulitple lanes of trafic. I retired a 93 f250 idi banks sidewinder for this 6.0,
I would not hesatate with that truck. don't get me wrong once it's
spooled up hang on. IS IT NORMAL ?
The only time my turbo is slow at spooling up is when I first pull into the road immediately after starting the truck...................... From what I understand on mine that its normal.........
Originally posted by jorzac I have noticed mine sometime spools very slow if I am rolling and then try to get into the gas fairly hard.
Mine just started doing that, too. I have 7.9k on it. It used to have no hesitation ever but now it's got this long lead time (5 seconds plus) before the power actually comes in if you punch it while rolling. It'll occasionally power right up but not often right now. It's got good acceleration from a stop, though.
Mine is scheduled in for next Monday for that and some other issues. They think it's the turbo accuator (for the 2nd time, BTW). Trip #4 for my 5 month old truck and I couldn't even drive it for the first 2+ months (broke my hip in a ATV rollover 2 days after buying it). I'd rate reliability as poor at this point.
