Unhappy 6.0 stalling

i have a 2003 f-250 6.0. mainly at higher speeds ( 65-75) motor bucks and sometimes stalls (not a fun thing). i thought it might be the cam sensor but ford says it shouldnt go bad already.(13,000 mi.) they also said something about fuel leaking into oil. checked level, does seem little high but doesnt seem to smell like fuel. can i test the cps? any thoughts would be great.

p.s. note to ford- 2nd new truck in 3 years with problems. thats strike 2 in my book.

Do a search on this forum on wire chafing.

Either that or you have an injector going bad. Take a sample of your oil and send it to Blackstone Labs. Go to their website and they will mail you a sample kit. It is pretty fast. They will send a report by email.

Not sure why you're posting this on this forum and NOT bringing it to Ford for WARRANTY work on your NEW truck ???

Oh, that's right, you said Ford said it was ????

They knew what it was and couldn't fix it ?

very strange occurence, glad I don't have that dealer...

Had the same problem with my 6.0. It's a scary thing when it happens in rush hour traffic. Turned out to be a chaffed wiring harness. Took about 2 hrs in the shop to diagnose and repair.

Good luck with your situation!

It took replacement of the engine wiring loom to slove the bucking problem I had with my truck. No fun on a 500 mile trip.

The fact that the tech made the claim to you -- and this is a very well known problem (fuel injectors) should raise considerable "credibility" issues with that dealership. I wonder if they actually wrote that on the work order copy given back to you after their evaluation. ??

The wires chaffing is usually on the valve cover stud and is fixed with a rubber plug installed on the stud.
