I'm Back... towing report
Ahh... towing with the Banks Powerpack installed!
Truck ran great and the extra low-end power is VERY noticeable. On the narrow, winding, two-lane road through the Osage hills, the truck used to downshift to 3rd if there was even a slight wind blowing. There is even a hill that required 2nd gear! Now it climbs the smaller hills and comes out of the curves at slow speed never dropping out of OD. The "big" hill does require a drop down to 3rd gear but that's OK. As a result of being able to run in higher gears, towing mileage is up 1-1.5 MPG! Just hot-rodding around town, the mileage is only up .5MPG at best. And finally, I usually fill up with 93 octane when towing because the truck, IMO, definitely towed better with it. This trip I ran 87 octane gas. I'll try premium next time to see if it does any better. Needless to say, I am very happy with the results of the Powerpack.

definition of a glowplug: a diesel's attempt at becoming a gasoline engine.
Now why would I want to trade the "real" thing for a wannabe?
Just Kidding- my next truck might be a diesel.BTW, the letter 'x' has to be capitalized for the faces to work.

Outpost22-
I feel like that actually happend.

Come on down. Just be sure to leave that cold air up there! :P
If things go as planned, I'll be up in your area in August. We're headed up to the in-laws in Cour d'howeverthehellyouspellit Idaho.

Cour d'alene is beautiful, but 2 days drive from here. You'll love it. If you play golf, they have a world class course and charge accordingly

The more miles I get on the truck with the kit, the better it seems to run. I think the real test of power will come when it's 100°+ out this summer.

BTW, can you guys send some of that warm air our way? Dang arctic front moved through and cooled us off again. Don't guess it matters since I'm on-call there's no way I can go camping.

I even had a guy at the RV park stop and ask me about the Banks system- he recognized the 4" tailpipe and figured something was up
. Turns out he has an early model 460 in his class C that Banks doesn't have mods for and has a little "Banks envy".Next year, I think the tax refund is going towards those headers and y-pipe

You won't be disappointed... except for having waited another year!

I was suprised at how much the Stinger alone helped performance. Then again, looking at the stock muffler, it's easy to see (based on heat discoloration) that it is extremely restrictive.
That 4" polished tip does look
I just wish they would have cut the actual pipe a little further back so it wasn't so visible inside the tip.Glad to see your back safe! I have a towing report also and want your opinion on the p-pack. I towed my 11000lb boat 100 miles for the first time the other day. I have the 5.4 and 4.10s. I was extremely pleased at how well it did. Maintaining 65 was no problem. I wasnt gonna win any races, but it seemed the truck had power to spare. Does the p-pack give that much more oomph? enough to justify the high cost?
Thanks

Those are the kind of mpg numbers I have seen too. It's been in the mid 90's here all week.. I'm chomping at the bit to go camping.....
