I've got a 99 4x2 F250SD 5.4L AOD 3.73 and 285 BFG ATs and when I accellerate hard it makes a large thumping noise/bump when shifting into second gear. It feels like when you popped the clutch, but of course its automatic.
My O/D light is not blinking and never has and it has done this since I bought it. It had 30k on it when I got it a year ago and now it has 72k.
Just wondering if thats just the way it is or if something might be wrong...
Thanks for the advice. I did get a tranny service about 10k miles ago at 60k. Things got smoother then but the problem did not go away. I was just wondering if it was a normal AOD thing. I have always had manuals before and if this happened it meant that I had mud or grease on my left foot
