Push bars???
Good day all,
My dad is looking for a chrome pushbar for his 1979 Ranger "Highboy", we aren't having the best of luck with this. There seem to be a lot of people who can get us one for a 1980 and up, but none earlier.
My question is, does anyone know if a 1980's and up pushbar will fit onto the 79 bumper without alteration? Are the frames the same width?
Any help would be appreciated in either pointing me to a website that has 1979's or answering my question. You can pm me or respond here.

the bumper from 80 and up are completely different than a 79 and earlier, there was never a "highboy" option for 79
you probably won't be able to find a NEW one for 79 and earlier, if you do it will be worth gold

I've looked for one and came up empty handed. I swear I have a book from every parts maker on the internet. I can't find one. So, I've located one that I like and ripped the picture out. I decided I'll make my own. It will cost less in the long run I figure.

Its slang for ANY '67 - early to mid '77 F-250 4x4.
I know, I'm nitpicking but I always hear these guys with their "79" or "82" "highboys" and it makes me crazy....

These have been defunct for some time now but if you can find one, Hooker made a pretty good pushbar for these trucks. I have a black one on my 78. It actually bolts to the frame instead of using the bumper bolts only. I have seen a guy selling these on ebay a while ago.

I'm sure they mount to the frame my brother had a 77 f250 with the fractory puch bar and he pulled a chevy z71 out of a with his so I guess theyre pretty strong if they are still made like the old ones.

I just looked too, but I didn't see any welds on the tubes to the plate??? Are these a three piece set???
