Does anyone have a trick to aim the headlights down on my 2001 F-350 with a 6 inch lift? Not only does everyone flash their brights at me but when I pull up behind someone I blind them through their rearview mirror. Plus of course I could see better at night if my headlight were actually pointing at the road in front of me and not two miles down the road (my brights now shoot over the horizon).
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 16-Apr-02 AT 01:39 AM (EST)]I had trouble finding the adjustment on my '02, if the 2001s are the same, here's what you do:
Open the hood, look down at the back of the headlight on the outer side (fender side). You should see the head of a torx screw right there. That's the vertical adjustment screw, and I think it's a T20 size.
Find a flat surface, park the truck so the lights are 25 feet from a wall. Measure the distance from the ground to the center of your headlights. Then mark a horizontal line on the wall that's the same height. Turn the screw until the TOP of the beam is below the line an inch or two.
That will get you pretty close, and you can go a bit higher or lower depending on what works best for you.
