Angry fuel delivery problem

Ok guy's here is my dilemma. My fuel gauge was not working on my front tank so I pulled the tank took out the sending unit and found out the float had pin holes in it and the sending unit was ok. I replaced the float. so far so good. at the bottum of the sending unit attached to the intake tube there is a plastic bell housing it has a screen on the bottum of it and a check valve on the side. This had a small crack were it attaches to the intake tube dealer said he could not get that bell housing so I put a clamp on it and put all together. My fuel gauge now work. the problem is my truck now keeps stalling out when I take my foot off the therotle. it will idle ok but if you rev it up and take foot off the peddle it stalls.some times it starts right back and some times I loose my prime. any suggestions out there.

Switch tanks and see what the outcome is. You may be suffering from a broken pickup tube or the lines are not tight on the tank you have been messing with. Keep us posted.

When I switch to the rear tank it works just fine. What I think im asking is would that bell housing cause this problem. I will go and recheck the lines were it plugs into the tank.

Just a quick up date the morning after my last post I started to have the same problem and it did not matter if it was the front tank or the back. so started to think its been some time sense I changed the fuel filter so after changing it I still had the same problem for a couple miles and then it cleared up. so my guess is I had air in the system and a bad fuel filter
