Does anyone know what is involved when replacing the clear gauge lens on a 02 SD?Is the outermost dash panel the only thing that needs to be removed? If so,what holds this in place?
I've got a few scratches on my lens apparently from being mishandled somewhere in the manufacturing process and was wondering what the dealer will have to do in order to replace the clear lens covering the gauges.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 05-Apr-02 AT 10:30 PM (EST)]I'm assuming it's like an 01, so first you pull the headlight switch panel off, pry on bottom of panel with small screw driver and it will pop right out. Then you may or may not have to pull the radio, I didn't. Then pull the main dash off, just pulls off , no screws at all. Just go slow when pulling the dash face apart, dont pull one side to much, kinda work around it.
Once all plugs are dissconnected in back , move shifter (if auto)down and pull the dash out of the way. 4 screws hold the cluster in, remove them, lens will pull apart from gauge face. Thats it took me 10 minutes no hassles,
