Brake lines are really designed to seal, not to be taken off 10 years after the warranty runs out. I had to junk calipers just because I could not loosen the bleeder screw and it broke off inside instead. That being said, technique is everything, so is a set of pipe wrenches and crowfoot sockets. Many times an impact wrench will loosen a brake line nut where a hand wrench will not.
Especially with a rocking motion.
Whenever I'm feeling a little down with my situation in life, I usually see some poor sucker driving an old Tempo or Topaz and the world brightens when I think, "things could be worse, I could be stuck driving one of those around". Then I feel better for a long time.
Speaking of cheap cars, it donned on me this last year when I saw a Maverick that you don't see many of those anymore. Then I thought about Pintos, Gremlins and many others that have not stood the test of time. I'm getting old I guess.
91 Ford Tempo - Free
Drove the mess out of it.... took the alternator, battery, power steering pump, bucket seats, console, radiator, electric fan.
I put the seats, battery, alternator and console in my 66
The rest I got for backup
So all in all I actually got a few grand worth of parts for my truck out of a free car, I sure had fun driving it, but I hated working on it... that is until I decided I was scraping it and just started ripping out anything that was in the way

Carpe, I been wanting to do some suspension work on my 65', it does make it hard with it being wet out. Where the Galaxie is sitting now there must be a 6" puddle completely encompassing the car. I have the intake over at the machine shop in Culpeper to have it dipped so I can paint it. She isn't gonna drive this week or anytime soon for that matter, and I'm sure not gonna lay in water for anything. The snow and ice has made finishing that a PITA. I need a garage. Where in the Commonwealth are you?
It sure has sucked lately. Later.
Northern Virginia. Yeah, I know about the weather, snow and ice and overall too nasty to work on anything. I need a personal garage. Although I do have access to one.
the easiest cars in the world to work on are late 60's , early 70's full size sedans whether from Chebby, Dodge or Ford I imagine.
