89 rebuild??
I just bought a 89 F150 Lariat 4x4 302 5.0 EFI AOD
when I got the truck it was not running. After a battery charge and a little fuel in the throttle body it fired up only to run like a cat stuck in a fan, broken exhuast manifold. so I changed it out.
Still running very bad I checked the compression all cyls check out at 160 to 180 I assume that the valves are OK fuel pressure is 45
. timing was a little off and adjusted so the truck runs a little better but is still very gutless What Next????

How long did the truck sit without being ran?
You could have sludge in the fuel tank(s), fuel lines, & filters.
Try a tune up & run some good gas thru the system to see what happens. It might take a tank or two of gas to clean it up some.

Yes I have had a few people tell me that there could be some build up in the fuel system I will clean that out,,
Something new here I had a friend hook up a scanner to pull up any codes and the trucks computer will not read out anything
its like there is no link from the brain. although the Engine Check
light remains on
