i am in a auto tech class at school (high school) and the snap on guy came in to day and gave us some catologs to look at. the students get over 50% off the regular price. like a beging tool set normal prices @ 4000$ i can get for 1600$. but i have all ready started (my parents bought me for x-mas) a craftsman set 150pice and i have a few odd tools(made in china) my dads tool set concests of snap on and craftsman. i am just curious on what your guyes tool sets concest of.

Hi there, mainly I use Craftsman. They work well and have a great warranty, they don't grow legs like my Snap-on tools do. I do have several specialized Snap-on tools along with S&K AND Macs. Also the price is decent on the Craftsman's. The HUGE DESIGNER TOOL BOX doesn't make a great Mechanic. Good luck and learn lots.

I would take advantage of my 50% off if I didn't have to pay for my truck! Snapon in my opinion are the very best tools, but they are only worth full price if you turn a wrench professionally.

Buy them now! I have only a few Snap-On Tools because of the price, and I am not a professional mech. However, they are by far the very best and you will never come by a sale like this again. I have mostly Craftsman and S-K, which are good enough for the hobbyist, but sometimes a Flank Drive Plus will save the day.

Most of my wrenches and wratchets are stanley pro series. Pretty good quality and pretty cheep prices. Seem to be better than the crafsman stuff I have had in the past.

I also have a pretty good selection of allen, s-k, and a few odd Mac and proto tools. They are all fairly good as well. The only thing that I own that is snap on is my torque wreches. They were far from cheep but work great for me.

For air tool all I own are Ingersol Rand. Haven't found anything yet that can beat them.

Buy'Em if you can!

I had that same offer when I was in Vo-tech school. Boy thats been awhile.....lol. Wished that I could have bought them. I just didnt have the cash. I work as a mechanic and I use a large varity of tools. I have Snap-On, Matco, Some Mac, Cornwell and some odd and end stuff like BlackHawk and proto. Craftsman tools are good tools and they have a good warranty but if you are gonna use your tools everyday as a mechanic get something like Snap-on or something simular. Just my $0.02 worth!

That is a very good deal on some very good tools. If you have the money...and you are going to be using them professionally in the future, I would say buy them. I use a mix of Snap-On, Mac, Matco, and Craftsman, and they are all very good quality tools...and all have a lifetime warranty. I do have to say that a good snap-on tool chest is worth it. My father still uses the same snap-on box (profesionally) that he bought used 25 years ago...and it was probably 15 years old when he bought it.

I have recently retired after 34 years with the world's largest package delivery outfit. I have worked package cars, tractors, and trailers. Throughout all those years the mainstay of my toolbx has been Craftsman, including the tool cabinet itself. I see no reason to spend your hard earned money on the high priced tool lines. They are nothing but marketing, marketing, marketing. You may in time find the need for some specialty tools only available from them. That is a different story., otherwise for me it will always be Craftsman.
