There should not be any parts different. The '00 might have a better computer program. Only differences I know of is the down pipe on the '00 might not have been crushed from the factory, and the way the 4x4 engages ( floor shift-'99 vs. electric shift switch on the dash for the '00 ) Good luck.

Yours was probably built after March 99. It should be just like the 2000 year. Ford changed some things after March of 99. If you order a lift kit it will be the " late 99 " through 04 kit. If it was the "early 99" model , it would be a differrent lift kit.

Out of Curousity I checked the Tag on the left side of Door and in the Upper left corner it says ...Date.....11\98.......does that mean that my truck was built in Nov-98??? After reading the previous posts I'm wondering if this makes any difference in equipment changes ford made starting in Mar-99. Does this make the truck more or less desirable for resale in terms of value???? I didn't actually purchase the truck until dec-99. thanks to all who reply...,s.kuteman

11/98 is considered an early 99. I have an early 99 and love it. Some of the differences between the early 99's and late 99's are the late 99's had a larger "Y" manifold and turbo. Like me, most prefer the whine of the early 99 Late 99's were built after 12/8/98.

2cylguy: Yes

Skuteman: Yes, it might be more valuble to those individuals who preferr the shifter on the floor. Less electronics to malfunction.

Floor shift 4X4 is still available now, which is a very good thing. Was the electric 4X4 not available in the 99s or something?

It is still the " shift on the fly" just the difference of floor shift vs. switch on the dash. The switch can malfunction.

Do you mean that all 4X4 Superduties made after 1999 have vacuum-operated hubs instead of true manual hubs, whether the t-case is manual or switch operated? I would prefer manual hubs and a lever. I hope that the lever will still be available for a long time.

I have factory manual hubs on my 99 with manual t-case.

Thanks for the help gang. My truck is an early 99 model. I got the 2000 motor in and fired up over the weekend. All is well. Thanks again.
