Mpg?

Ladies and Gentleman, I use that loosly, I was on the way home one after noon and got the dredded "D" coil pack failure. Before this problen i was getting 16-19 @ 70 MPG I thought I got bad fuel some where. I bought Lucus fuel lubricant and Chevron Techrolen and changed the fuel filter. Instructions for Lucas is 3 oz. per 20 gallans but of coarse i was applying about 3 times that much nad one bottle of Techron per 10 gallans one bottle treats 20 gallans.But of course it was the coil. I replaced the airfilter with a K@N when i bought the truck. After replacing the coil and changing the plugs Autolite double platnums, and cleaning the tips of the full injectors with a needle. I started reading the overhead instant MPG it was reading 24-26 @ 70MPH This cant be right. So I filled up with Chevron plus unleaded. reset my AVG MPG and tripometer. After running out the tank I got 435 miles out a full tank with city mileage of 18-21 highway mileage of 24-26 @70MPH draft a semi rig and get 36MPG Can some one please explain this one. WAHOO
