gauges

I have an 89 f-150 with an 300 I-6. All of my gauges, including the gas, alt, and temp gauges read incorrectly. When I hit the top of the dash, they read correctly (I think) for a while and then stop again. i am assuming it is a ground problem. Where is the most likely place to cause this? thanks

Take the instrument cluster out, and take a pencil eraser and clean all the connections.

Thanks Franklin2. Your suggestion "erased" the problem. They are working perfect now.
