I would use 90 weight gear oil. There is also multigrade gear oil available too for colder climates. I would go to any good auto parts store and ask what the book calls for and what would be good in your area. If you don't already know how to determine the correct level and how to check it, then you might also ask the guys at the parts store to guide you there. There is a plug in the side of the trannie that unscrews out and that is where you check the gear oil level with your finger. It should be just about to the top where it would spill out of the threaded hole (where the plug unscrewed from)
