I was wondering if anyone will help me out with a rather vague question. I own a 1997 F-150 with 102,000 miles. On a very cold MN morning, I awoke to a dead battery. After "jump starting" the battery I realized I couldnt get my truck into gear.
I can put in in gear when the engine is off and and drive around town in 1st gear, but am not able to change gears while engine is running.
Did I snap the clutch cable?
Does anyone have any ideas to what my problem is and what needs to be fixed?
How much should this cost to fix roughly?
Any info would be appreciated, would like to get this truck in today to get a look.
I'd bet you have a leaking clutch slave cylinder
See if the fluid in the clutch master cylinder reservoir on the firewall is low. Make sure you take the "cup" out of the reservoir after you remove the cap and look under that.
