02 - F-250 Sd

Local dealer has a 02- SD C/C XLT 7.3 4x4 just under 36,000 miles - seems like a nice truck - Dark shadow Grey - some clear coat issues showing that he says they will fix. Want 32,900 - seems kind of high- looking for comments.

Also if any one can search a VIN to see if this truck has any past issues I would appreciate it

What do you mean by "clear coat issues?" Peeling off? First, the price does seem high; secondly, are the paint issues from poor repair work, meaning it's been in an accident? I think I'd keep looking, if that's the case.

That price does seem high. I know that around here (Boston) you could get an 03 SD CC 4x4 w/ 7.3 for the same price...no miles. I negotiated my 03 F150 SC XLT 4x4 w/ 7700 pkg from 32.5k down to 23.5k with a little leg work, and it was only 1 of 2 available in my area (7700 pkg was hard to find).

I think you should be able to get it for far less with those miles on it.

Also, I would be concerned about the paint excuse.

well.... i just bought an 02 350 PSD cc larait loaded with 18k for 30 (depending on how you value my trade) the truck shows like new. i guess it's all on how bad you want one. i will say this truck is a dream!

Well thats what I was thinking - As far as the clearcoat issues - around the rear window and a few other areas pipe the clear coat is peeling off - simular to what you would see if varnish were to peel off a wood floor.

Thats a sign of poor body work ,I'll bet that ones been hit .
Clear coat peeling is because they didn't prep it right before painting.
