OK, I was wondering if anyone knows what will be carryover from the concept to the new truck. I really would like to see the stick, the blown DOHC, and the Independant Rear. And, I want some opinions on how long after the Lightning comes out that the SRT/10's record will stand. All I can say is, "Coletti get on the stick!!!"
From what iread the six speed is gone for the production car,the blown motor will be carried over and im not so sure about the independent rear, the problem is that Ford wants to keep the lightning as it is,usefull as a truck unlike the SRT-10 which can only haul 650 pounds in the bed and they dont suggest towing anything at all with it. I think as soon as the gen 3 Lightning comes out the Doge will trying find a place to hide, Coletti wont let us Down,he hasnt yet
Thanks for replying. I thought that the Independent rear was a stout piece, because they do put it in the expy, and it holds up really well there. I guess it doesnt matter much, because Coletti already said the Dodge won't be on top long.
The other proble with the IRS is that its a pain to drag race with, alot of guys with 03 cobra hate it casue there is alot of wheel hop,it wold make the Lightning handle even better than it does now but alot of guys are more intrested in the straight line performance the lightning has.I think they should have it as an option. I would get it cause a car with IRs usually rides better and I love to through my Lightning into the twistys and cant even begin to imagine how much better the truck will be if it gets the IRS
