just get the filter, the actual intake draws air form under the hood, therfore it will be very hot, the stock intake bring air throught the grill, therfore cool air. the filter will give you no noticable gain in anything, so far the only use i have for mine is that i wheel a lot, and it has been cheaper to have the cleanable fitler instead of buying a new paper one every two weeks. stick with the stock set up. there have been studies that show that this is not an area in the big6 that holds back HP. its in the head. if you want to spend 200$ in something that will give you HP get a header.....IMO that is....
