Flexplate ???? Help!!

Hello!
I just put a used Automatic Trans in my 86 f150 2wd / 351w /c6 trans
and found that the flexplate had some missing teeth! so I replaced it with another, the flexplate I replaced had a piece of metal welded to it, but the one I put in, did'nt have anything welded to it. Could that be some sort of balancing thing for the flexplate??? or maybe I put the wrong one in, like a " flywheel??? " for a manual trans.
My question is: could the flexplate cause the truck to have a rumbling feeling? like as if it where out of balence? (or) could it be a bad torque converter?
The trans shifts fine through all gears. it seems to stop rumbling at about 25mph.
Any suggestions would be very helpful.

The best way to get the one you need is to get the part number off the flexplate you are replacing and have them cross it to the right part. Catalogs give you what a vehicle should have - not necessarily what it actually has.
