In fact, some people who claim to be disabled after parking in the disabled parking spots will end up walking up & down the Mall twice equaling 1/2 mile.
Those permits are for people who can't walk more than 300 FT without having to sit down.
I usually park well away from the cart returns and other cars, even in bad weather. My wife visually inspects the truck when we come back to it too. (Habit after getting hit twice in 2 weeks, in our own apt. lot.) pipercub is right, though- no matter where you park SOMEone will have to park next to you, even if the rest of the lot is empty.
I agree about getting a Bronco! They have a seriously tight turn radius, ours turns tighter than her Buick. Just a thought!

i agree with Dennis bad judgement and bad parking are not a handicap. Leave the spots for someone who needs them.
From: I'm lost somewhere in NJ -- can someone please find me?!?!?!?
I find myself using the back of the lot quite frequently. Not because I can't park my truck in a regular spot if I have to, but because my F-250 SC LB is:
(a) so wide that I'm afraid idiots will dent it opening their doors
(b) so long that idiots might clip the front end sticking out of the spot
(c) the back of the lot is safer from shopping carts & other debris
So I take up 4 (2 wide & 2 long) spots in West Bumble'content' and walk. When I get back, it's not uncommon for me to see other large pickups congregated around my truck, following my example.
Before buying my truck I used to be one of those people circling around the front spots like a buzzard looking for my spot. Now I find that parking in the back and walking is much faster.
But when i do have to squeeze my size 11 foot into a size 9 shoe, I find that backing into the spot makes things a whole lot easier. I also back into driveways and just about any tight spot.
Any of you guys ever wait in the car while your wife goes into the Mall? Try it, and watch how the Ladies park their vehicals, or should I say attempt to park... they do NOT know how to park! (sorry Ladies, it's the truth)
Guys, always park as far away as possible, and hope you don't get run over by the Female (in a hurry) looking for the ideal parking spot while talking on her Cell Phone, smoking a ciggarette, eating her Yogart and applying her make up.
Once again I apologize Ladies, but the truth has to be told!!!
i worked at target last year after school doing carts. its amazing to see how dumb people are. they have to almost stand up looking out the back window to back in. people never use their mirrors. i always park at least 30 spots past the last car and i park on a slant because it looks cool. i think all trucks should do that. most parking lots are designed for car. places like home depot and lowes have big spaces but thats about it. all these soccer mom's out there buy their big suv's and try to drive them like little cars. i figure walking the extra distance to my truck is the same as walking down a few isles in the store.
Just park it on the sidewalk like some of those idiots with crotch rockets do! And although I've seen a few of said crotch rockets being tipped over by someone doling out vigilante justice, something tells me your truck won't be so easy to flip on its side...
