Turn signal problems

Hey all, I usually post in the 67-72 forum but this problem is with my '98 F-150. The turn signals for a right turn will not work, If I hold the stalk in the momentary position it works fine but when I flip it all the way up it either blinks rapidly at the indicator or not at all either way nothing happens outside the truck. Also the wiper wash only seems to work when it wants to. This has been going on for a while and didn't really bother me until a friend today said his '97 does the same thing exactly. Any ideas as to where to start troubleshooting?
Thanks
Greg
Never Mind I found a thread on the subject.

Sounds like you need a new multifunction switch. It is under the plastic steering cloumn covers. It controls the wipers, turn signals, bright lights, and flashers.

My '97 F-150 has the same problem. I did a search on this website and found others who have had this problem and they said it was the multifunction switch and you can get the part for about $71. They listed this website http://www.parts.com/index.cfm?acti...ont&sfid=213843 and they do have it for $71.74. You can also try and see if this link will work to take you directly to the product https://www.ford-trucks.com/framered...t&sfid=213843. they said it is easy to install and should take 15 to 30 minutes.
