I need to trailer tow a 79 F-150 4x4 lifted monster truck with 40" tires on it but it wont fit on the trailer. The truck is currently in Illinois and I am in Missouri (I just bought it and now I need to go pick it up).
In order to make it fit on the trailer I was told to just put smaller tires and rims on it for the move and then put the big ones back on it.
The 79 F-150 is 5 lug, and I havea 90 Bronco 4x4 that also had a 5 lug hub with 31's on it. The 31's should be able to fit on the trailer, but will they fit the 5 lug pattern on the 79? I know that are both 5 lug and are both Ford but I need to be sure that will fit - it sure would suck to get all the way out to illinois from Missouri and have them not be able to fit.
So the wheels from my 90 Bronco will fit the 79 F-150......this is good because I know the 31's will fit on the trailer no problem but now my biggest worry is getting the tires off the Ford....haha
that thing is going to look pretty wierd goin down the road on a trailer with 31's underneath it....
