5.4 Triton Engine

I was wondering if anyone has had a problem with the right side head gasket on a 1999 F150 5.4 v-8 triton engine. I had the right side head gasket replaced at 10,000 miles and again at 35,000 miles and they tell me it needs to be replaced again at 49,000 miles. What is up with this? They didn't charge me the first two times but now said it would be a $1400 job which I've got down to costing me $300. I don't think I should have to pay anything if this is a factory problem.

Anybody have any comments on this as to where or what I should do on this?

That has been a wealness. Sounds like your dealer is being very fair, but I'd have to ask why the problem isn't solved by now.

Make sure they use the proper kit. Ford put out a repair kit for this problem that uses a thicker gasket.

I'm wondering if the head and block surfaces are true.
