Is this normal?

Just paid about $500.00 to FORD dealer to have "clockspring" replaced under stearing wheel and power steering pump replaced becuase of "no pressure". Symptons were hard to steer and noise is steering column. I was afraid to try to drive to regular mecahnic becuase it was so hard to steer.

Since you went to a dealer, yes it is normal because you are paying for original equipment parts & extremely high labor rates.

If you would have gone to a regular mechanic other then a dealer, you would have paid much less then $500.00.
