Tranny shift problems
O.K. I have decided to leave the auto in for awhile but it has a little problem. When you take off, the RPMs go pretty high before it shifts. The tranny only shifts twice. Like it goes from first straight to third. The guy that I bought it from says that it will shift again but the speedo is like at 65(which I find hard to believe) I do know that the passing gear linkage is missing completely. I guess since this was a factory stick truck thay didnt think that it needed it.....lol. It also has a Hurst gate shifter. I know that you are supposed to be able to shift through the gears manually with it but I cant get it to go to nothing but drive. It'll go to park and everything else but no individual gears like first and so on. I thought about the modulator valve but it looks new with no leakage. I havent had a chance to check the vacuum yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh, BTW. It's on 33" tires if you need that info. Thaks for your time!
