I have a few different trucks at work and I would like to know what transmissions are in them just by giving you some specs. I know I can look at the door tag but some tags are gone. Just reply by listing the number then letting me know.
1) 1985 Ford F-150. 3 speed PLUS OD manual tranny. Also, what kind of fluid does this transmission take?
2) 1987 Ford F-250. It is an overdrive automatic transmission. It has P-R-N-OD-D-1
3) 1989 Ford F150. It is a 3 speed automatic transmission. It has P-R-N-D-2-1
4) 1991 Ford F-350 It is an overdrive automatic transmission. It has P-R-N-D-2-1 plus an overdrive button.
5) 1979 Ford F-350 with a 4 speed manual transmission. 1st gear is granny low.
6) 1979 Ford Bronco. It is a 3 speed automatic transmission. It has P-R-N-D-2-1 This truck is 4x4 if that makes a difference.
How reliable are each of these trannies? Thanks guys!

Boss358: The TOD and SROD are the same basic aluminum cased transmission built by Tremec, onlt the SROD's problematic shift linkage was replaced with a top cover shifter setup like any other truck transmission.
For 1985, the specified lube for all manual transmissions is gear oil, only the transfer cases took ATF.
