Finally found the noise!!
Hey all. This is just an FYI. I've had an anoying noise since day one on my F250 V-10. I had the Y pipe changed...still noisy at 1800 RPMs. After 5 trips to my dealer, the noise got so bad that I was able to find it myself. It turns out that the muffler had internal problems and sets up a fierce vibration that sounds like a heat shield noise. The muffler assy. was replaced yesterday, and the truck never sounded better. Anyone else with this annoying noise might check the muffler. Seems that there have been several defective mufflers on the V-10s. I was able to rap it a few times with a rubber mallet and hear the same noise.
Thanks for all the previous help trying to help me diagnose this thing. I guess this was kinda a strange one.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 27-Apr-02 AT 09:42 AM (EST)]My muffler is screwed up as well. Mine does it at idle and if I put the truck in neutral it will stop. At first I thought I had one of the noisey torque converters that affected some 99's. After crawling underneath the truck I could tell it wasn't coming from the tranny and then thought it was a heat shield. After further investigating, I'm 99.9% sure it's the muffler. Hopefully this summer I'm going to fix it with a banks powerpack. 
In the meantime, it sure does sound like a junk pile sitting at a stop light.
