I just ordered my F250 XLT 6spd. from the factory. I tried to tack on the Snow Plow Package after I placed the order, but it's too late. Once the truck arrives, however, is there anything the dealer can do to get the same effect as this package (i.e. add bigger front springs, larger blocks in the back, etc.)? Any ideas on cost? I don't want to put a lift on quite yet because I don't want even tamper with voiding the warranty, but I'd like the truck to ride a little higher than the stock truck. Any ideas?

When is your build date? Did your dealer tell you it's too late? I find it hard to believe that you couldn't add it if you just recently placed your order. Maybe it can be added after by your dealer, but it's too bad it couldn't be on your original order because it's only a $70.00 option and a good one (I have it). Maybe you could call your dealer and tell him you've changed your mind and don't want the truck now? I bet that would "somehow" get the plow package on there. Good luck with your truck!
You could tell them to swap out the springs or you don't want it.
Plow package comes with the "X" springs in front(at least 99-01 did) and I don't think you even need longer U bolts for them.
Nothing has to be done to the rear, because it sits about 3 inches higher in the rear from the factory. It should only take your dealer an hour to swap them out.
Other than getting them and doing it yourself, you could go to a leveling kit, if you go that route, I would go with the spring hanger type so you keep your stock ride in tach.
I have a set of X springs on my self, but I will put them back in when I sell the truck, so I can't sell them.
So what (if any) options did you order on the truck? I sure wouldn't trash the deal just because of this. The plow pkg adds nothing but "stiffer" front springs. These springs raise the front up to 1.5 inches... more specifically, they do not sag as much as the regular springs. If it is a real issue, you can have the springs re-arched by any area shop.
The plow pkg does nothing to increase the rear height of the truck. All F350s have 4" blocks whereas the F250s have 2" blocks.
I believe he wanted his truck to sit level from the factory!
without the x springs(snowpkg) in the front his truck the way ordered the rear will sit higher than the front.
If they want your business they'll change it!

Is the truck being built or is it one they found on another dealers lot? I'd think they could still change the order if it's being built. You might just have to play hardball and threaten to cancel the order and go some place else
Thanks for all the advice. The truck is being built at the factory. I think I'll play some hard ball, hopefully they won't keep my $1000 deposit if I threaten to cancel the order. But, seeing as how the truck doesn't have a build date yet, I don't think they'll do that.
If a VIN hasn't been issued I can't fathom why the order can't be changed.I would have a "talk" with the dealer.
I think they should be accomadating once you "reason" with them.
Good Luck
