02' Ranger Problems
I have an 02' Ranger 3.0L. It tends to idle too slowly during spring and fall and tries to stall when I stop. It also makes a girgleing sound when I am on the gas. It sounds like water in the exhaust or something. What could cause this?

My transmission also has some play in it. When I accelerate slowly down a hill it takes a long time to shift to second and when it does it is really hard. It also takes sevveral seconds to shift into drive and reverse. Are these problems common?

How many miles are on it? Have you checked the transmission fluid? Have you tried disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes and then letting the computer relearn everything? Have you tried cleaning the MAF.
