leveling kit.
what does the leveling kit do other then raise the front 2 1/2 inches? and what is the best brand? i am really thinkin about getting one of these kits fer my truck. just dot know what to expect.

I have a BDS leveling kit on my '01 F-250 PSD. It make a big difference over the stock look. It was about $400 and came with 4 shocks and all the mounting hardware.
If I had pics I put them up, but every time I think about picture the truck is a mess.

FabTech also make a good kit, but its a little bit more money.

leveling kit.
No. This kit only lifts the front of the truck. Some use add a leaf spring, the BDS uses longer spring hangers.
Aleveling kit gets rid of the nose down look of the stock set up.
And gives you more room for bigger tires.
If you use a kit that adds more leaf springs to the front you will change the ride, a spring hanger kit will keep the same ride quality.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 01-May-02 AT 02:42 AM (EST)]All the leveling kit does (if it is a hanger kit) is relocate where the leaf springs connect. I have a 3" hanger kit on mine. I have a few pics in my gallery under misc. pics (they are the big blue pieces in the last two pictures in that gallery). This kit will maintain the same factory ride. If you get a leveling kit that has additional leaf springs, the ride will change. And yes, the leveling kit only raises the front of the truck, hence, a leveling kit. You could get a larger rear block to raise the rear or additional springs. Hope this helps.

I see that your kit got rid of the second bumper on the bottom. Man I hated that thing.

This might be a stupid question, but would "riderite" airbags serve the same purpose, with the flexibility to control height?

I believe that the bags are desinged for the rear suspension, not so much for the front.
