[updated:LAST EDITED ON 05-May-02 AT 00:29 AM (EST)]well today i test drove the 02 superduty 250 4x4 SC.
i wanted to drive both the 5.4 and v-10. altho i thought the 5.4 had good power i think the v10 is worth the extra 500 bucks. my dealer did a search for my truck as soon as i sell my 150 they can have my new f-250 in 2 days.
is it me or did the v10 ride a little better due to the heavier motor?
with all my options my truck will be $29,310 with X plan
Congrats on your impending purchase. I think you're making the right choice with the V10. I certainly have nothing against the 5.4. From all I read, they're good engines. But the difference in gas mileage, from what I read, is only like 1 or 2 mpg, and the power trade off is substantial. Let us know how you like it when you get it.
Congradulations on the impending purchase.
You won't be sorry you got the V10 it will do everything you need and then some. I've driven both 5.4 and V10's in a fifteen pasenger van, loaded with people (for work, we got the 10 by accident one year).
The 5.4 is OK but the 10 hauls A--. I was sold the first time I wound that V10 out to 90mph from a dead stop, the sound the exceleration........OH oH I gotta go drive my truck
OH GREAT ANOTHER PENDING GASSER.Oh well that just means more deisel for me.And I will agree if your sticking to gas the v-10 sounds like the right ticket hate to be short on horse power.Take care and enjoy your new found friend the super duty.
I drove damn near every combination and would have settled for the 5.4 but the tgruck I found had the V10 and I'm very glad I got it. I think it's stronger thant he 5.4 and it sounds better.
Enjoy.
