horn ring removal
Can anyone tell me how to remove the horn ring on my custom cab steering column. I've tryed to push down and twist but was afraid it might brake. Any help would be appreciated. Man this fte site is the greatis, I can not imagin being a die hearted FORD owner and not being a member. THANKS

Push down (hard!) and turn counterclockwize (95% sure). That is the olny way to get it off so it would probably be good to have a spare laying around just incase. It is held on with a plasic ring that is screwed on to the steering wheel. The plastic ring had three protruding notched tabs that fit into tapered slots on the horn ring.

They are not hard to find since they were the wheel came from the Ford Falcon cars, and was used from 61 up into the 70's on trucks. You should beable to find one on problem on a junker. But if you can't find one or don't feel like searching Dennis Carpenter, LMC, and NPD (many others too) have replacements that are very inexpensive.

When you break it taking it off 
it's not the chrome part you'll need, but the plastic piece screwed to the ring itself that has the 3 tabs on it. Only a couple bucks from the vendors. Just buy one of those and you should be set.
