Need a little Help!
Hello,
I have a 68 F100 with a 390 and I seemed to be running high RPM's at highway speed. 4000 at 75 with 3.25 gears and stock tires. Checked the band adjustment and I think I messed it up. One, I was unable to break the lock nut loose without loosing the adjusting nut. Then, like a *******(donkey) I forgot to loosen the adjusting nut a turn and a half??? I was hurrying to get my son to an appointment and didn't realize until I put it into reverse and it felt like the parking break was on. Oh ya, so I redo it and seems like no problem until I get on the highway and boom, she whines down like I have the parking brake on again. I re-adjust and it seems to run okay. Stopped there before I blow it up??? My question is, did I smoke the I-band or drop something when I loosened the adjusting nut too much?
