Nafzimo, I dont think responsible is the right word, asking for advice/help maybe! You were fortunate this time,"just wasn't enough"= damage to your truck only. My point is for anybody loading a pickup or trailer to secure the load down, if you are not sure how to do it, dont be afraid to ask for assistance, if the load comes off and does damage, you will be held responsible!!
Better safe than sorry,

Lenny, I don't think your are getting it. I bought lumber from an individual in BFE Iowa (gravel roads). We (he, I, and my brother) tied the load down. We figured that single boards could come loose so we tied it all together and were all confident that as a single 2000 pound load, it was not going anywhere. We were wrong. Do you have an 800 number I should have called to ask for assistance? Maybe an engineering firm? What the heck are you talking about???
Thanks Yeti, I looked on ebay for a while. Found a couple at $300 and still climbing (none my color). Also saw the $87 ones that you pointed me to. There is also a guy with a dented one on ebay that will fix\strip\paint for you for $200 in addition to the auction price. I bet that will match well.

No Matt, I get it!! ( you just like to argue)It doesn't matter where you bought it, or what the roads were like, you still lost a load of lumber because you or your two partners could not tie it down to ride! It could have had serious consequence's, which you seem to ignore. I was addressing the board to watch out for this situation, "anybody loading" does not single you out! I was digging on you for the previous thread!
But since you brought it up, I do have a 800 number and the numbers of many owner operater friends in central Ill that would be happy to show you the right way to secure a load. Hey,what are buds for!!
With all that said.... I think another point that needs to be mentioned is the fact that factory type plastic bedliners suck! Spend the money on Line X or Rhino Lineing and you won't loose any loads. (assuming they are strapped in)
I haul lumber all the time (always rachet strapped) and haven't lost a single board.

Sorry Lenny, You started the argument and an unclear one at that. I thought your second quote above was what we were arguing about. If you just would have said, "Hey guys reading this board, if you feel the slightest bit uncomfortable with tying down your load, ask for help." Hey, that would have been clear and to the point. Try it!
On Edit
I just realized something else. If it weren't for me trying to clarify your points for the board, my posting number would be somewhere down in the 800's! I just rolled 1000... a posting guru! Cool... Hey, that's what buds are for!!!

Like he did it on purpose. He had no idea the wood was going to leave the scene. I don't lose loads anymore cause I've learned Let people learn and get over it.
$407.60 from Ford for the shell alone. Guess it is more than a door Yeti. It is $60 more to get the access panel but I don't need it. The local junk yard has one and wants $350 for it (complete). I might as well go with the new shell.

"Slightest bit uncomfortable" With what??? Matt, have you been on the California web site again?
