I'm looking at flowmaster's trk/suv performance 50 series cat-back. Can anyone offer an opinion on this system. I'm interested in an increased flow to go along with the k&n fipk and a bit more throatier sound. Will this system accomodate? Thx
Does flowmaster offer a full cat-back or are you referring to the muffler only? Regardless, you might try a search for Flowmaster here and in the engine forums. Some people liked it- others did not.

Full cat-back. Summit offers it for 189 plus 10 shipping..pretty reasonable, i thought. Thx. I was wondering also...how do we know our stock mufflers aren't adequate with the K&N intake system??????
IMO, the stock muffler isn't adequate for the stock air intake system. In fact, I changed out the exhaust from the manifolds to the tailpipe. The factory intake is not too bad.
How much will a cat back help when the good old factory y pipe (skinny)is still in place?I raise this question out of concern as to whether or not cat back system gains will be worth the investment with the factory y pipe in place.
When I bought the Banks Powerpack, I did the install in "pieces". I drove the truck for about a week with just the replacement muffler & tailpipe. The difference was extremely noticeable. I could immediately tell that there was less restriction. Later, when I installed the headers & Y-pipe, the difference was just as dramatic as the cat-back portion... except I went from wow! to WOW!!
