Choices -a- plenty
On engines I decided on a V-10. The 5.4 is a good engine but if you ended up wanting more punch out of it you would spend a lot more than the $600 it cost for the upgrade to the V-10.
A Crew Cab makes for a big ol' truck, but it did get all the votes.
I am still thinkin on that one, but a Crew cab is more feasible.
What about packages? I want the off-road package, and thought about the Camper package but does it make for a stiff ride?
I read somewhere that the Snow-plow package makes the truck sit level, what is the deal with that?
What do ya'll like in colors? I reckon it is more personal preference than anything, but I do like the new dark grey. Does silver&grey still fade like they used to.
I hope ya'll don't mind all my particular questions.
And yes I am a hunter thats why I asked about a hidden place to mount a gun rack. Does the back seat in a Crew cab lean forward.

IMO you have to look at what you are going to use the truck for and what are you going to upgrade in the future.Ex-Why buy the alum. wheels if you are going to put bigger wheels and tires on in future.
The gray was my 1st choice,BUT all manufactures have had bad luck with the silver/gray family in the past,so I went with the T-Red,The snowplow pkg. makes the trk. sit level,Which I thought looked better.
If you are not going to pull or put a camper in the bed I dont know what the camper pkg would be beneficial,It does ride stiffer! I got the nerf bar Style steps For ease getting into cab. I got a factory trailer hitch as it is cheaper,Tinted windows is a must,The off road pkg. protects vital parts underneath. The trans and rear gears would be a choice depending on your use of trk! The options go on,IMO I could not see putting money in things I would not use,I could use that money to upgrade the trk in future.
Hope this helps

)The camper package consists of front springs that are rated at 200lbs.more,a rear sway bar,and a slide in camper certification.I went for it to get the sway bar.Mine rides well in front.I don't believe the 200lb.springs hurt the front ride much.
The springs that come with the snow plow package are the max.rated springs.I don't know how much they stiffen the ride.
I've got True Blue and like it.My next choice would have been Dark Shadow Grey.Clear coat has pretty much cured the silver and grey paint durability issues,as long as the clear coat isn't damaged.I had a silver 96 F-150 for 4.5 yrs. and the paint held up just fine
