I have an 03 F-150 with the single CD stereo in it. I have heard that there is speed sensitive volume adjustment on the 6 disc stereo, does antone know if this feature is available on the single CD stero?
Easiest way to check, is to hold the volume/On-Off button in for 3 to 7 seconds. If you have SSV it will then let you adjust it by turning the volume ****. Ranges from 0 to 7. Stereo has to be on while you are testing/setting.
I have the singel cd unit as well with the SSV feature. It is the head unit that has RDS. Whatever that means. Just hold the button in like mentioned before.

Yeah, the speed sensitive volume gets wierd unless you just use a little. I put mine on 2, and it just compensates for road noise. Actually I may set it a notch higher with the snow tires.
The RDS is Radio Data System, which allows the radio to post a line (or several scrolling) such as their call letters, location, or music type. Like the SSV, it does not come activated, but must be turned on (see owner's manual).
