Since it seems like the day to talk about mirrors....
Maybe I'm a day late to figure this out, but thought I would share it anyhow. I was talking to my dealer about painting the mirrors and door handles (like chadrock did) since they do lots of custom work. Turns out that Excursion mirrors and handles have a smooth surface made for painting, which of course makes sense since the ones on the X are painted. So the dealer is painting a set for me and will swap mine out for minimal charge. The shop manager has a set on his Superduty, they look nice!
That's great the dealer will do it for you for a good price. The places here in Vegas wanted an arm and a leg to do it. It just so happened that we bought a brand new Denali Christmas (2000) right before I bought my truck in Feb 01. Anyway, right about the time I bought my truck, a moving truck sideswiped the Denali. The place that did the Denali also gave me a really good price to do my truck. They painted all the stock black Superduty pieces with paint that had a flex additive in it, which helps when painting plastic pieces. You'll have to get some close up pics so we can see how it looks.
