I just heard where we are expecting 8"-12" of snow. Last night I went to Wally World to grab some gorceries about 10PM and the place was packed, and I couldn't figure out why, now I know. Yes, I live under a rock with no radio

I went to the grocery store about an hour ago for supplies for my Daughters B-Day. I have never seen so many crazy people in my life. They were grabing things like the end of the world was coming. There was a guy in the parking lot selling ice melt for $10 a bag since Hy- Vee was out.

Well, I have a shed with 80, 50# bags of chloride pellets (ice melt) and 40, 50# bags of rock salt. I also have reserved 11 tons of salt/sand mix for truck mounted spreaders. If anyone needs any, let me know. As long as you give me the secret FTE password, no charge. You pick it up in Overland Park.

I think it is starting, already getting sleet in Alma and Manhattan. Wonder how much snow and ice it would take to keep from having to go to work.

AHHHHHHH CRAP!!! When they first mentioned this storm, they were talking up to 18" in the KC area. Then it went down to 8 to 12, this afternoon, it was down to 6 - 7. Just watched the news, now it is 2 - 4. By the time it gets here, it will be 0 - 0. Suckered again. Oh well, there will be plenty of rock salt for the ice cream churn in July and chloride pellets help concrete set up faster, so I guess it isn't a total loss. Damn weather people. This was "guaranteed" according to one of the TV weather people here. Maybe I should send him the invoice..

Hang10 what part of Overland Park do you live in? I am off of 75th and Mission Road.

Hell we should take some of your stash and hang out in parking lots tomorow when everyone is trading the first born for salt. You can keep the kids though I have PLENTY for all of us.

I think it depends on where you live. However, the forecast seems to change pretty regularly. I don't think we'll know till it's over!!

I have come to the conclusion that when the weather man says a big storm, We get maybe 1-2 inches and when he says 1-2 inches we get at least 6

Problem is, no one is going to be out buying much of anything with the game on. Salt is apparently easy to find. I ran by Lowe's in Shawnee today and they had pallets of salt sitting there. No one seemed to be very interested. I spent an hour tuning up the snow blower, stopped by the shed and picked up some chloride and salt for home, pre treated my drive, steps and walkway. I hope we get something out of it.

ChiefsFan, the stash isn't my personal stuff. I bought it for the rental properties and construction projects that have foot traffic. Good idea though. You and I think a lot alike. Maybe we should go into partnership with a gas station How many kids do you have? 5 here. Oldest is 12, youngest is 3.
