I got a Ford hood deflector from my local dealer yesterday, I get it home and look at it after taking it out of the plastic and it has a bunch of scratches and dings in it. I take it back and look at the only other one they've got and it's the same way. They don't ship them in a box, just wrap it in plastic DUH! I'm gonna try another dealer today. If anyone gets one of these it's a good idea to look it over good before you leave with it I have a feeling this is a common problem. I'm not paying $70 to put a scratched up pos on the hood of my new truck. If I can't find a good one from Ford I'll put on an aftermarket, at least they have enough sense to put them in a box.--Jack
I ordered one from my local dealer and it came in a box and was wraped in plastic and had bubble wrap on both ends. There was no damage and installed fairly easily. Maybe try another dealer and have them leave it in the factory Ford box.
norcal crew, there is a picture of one installed on the fordaccessories.com web site. Look under 2004 F150.

I got the Ford F-150 low profile from my dealer and love it. It came in a box and was wrapped in bubble wrap on both ends and plastic throughout.
I first bought a Lund shield and didn't like how high it sat on the hood. Yea, I basically threw eighty bucks in the wind since I doubt I will be able to sell it. Nothing like taking the grill off my truck twice either.
I got a low profile from another dealer yesterday and installed it. It came in a box as some others have said. The first dealer must be taking them out and stacking them up to save space in the warehouse. It looks great though I did cringe a little when I put the clips on the hood, even with those plastic strips. At least I didn't have to drill any holes or use any self tapping screws. I'll try to post some pics soon. Thanks for everyones input.--Jack
I had the dealer install a bug reflector and the Nerf bars as well as the Bedliner before I even left with the truck and of course I looked everything over 2 times. I love it!
BlkButy,
Have you thought about getting the windows on your front doors tinted to match the rear doors. It would look good on that black truck IMO. I'm gonna do mine when I get the chance.--Jack
I have a Lund bug deflector installed and it does flutter at highway speeds, most notably when I get within about 50 to 100 feet of a tractor trailer (all the turbulance). You can check it out in my galleries. I to was a bit apprehensive putting the clips on the outer edges but it sure looks good.
