I have searched high and low for info on leveling kits. I am looking at a rough country leveling kit. It comes with the add a leaf, 1 for each front side. is there anything else 1 would need beisdes this kit? Longer bolts, drop brackets and etc.. Or just add the leafs and drive away level and happy? Seen lots of topics about leveling kits, maybe thats why i am confused? Just trying to make sure i wontneed anything else.. Just got my 02 f350 today and luv everything about it other than the frnt sitting 2 " higher than the rear,,, Just dont look right like that.. Have to admit my face hurts from smiling all day today,, This is my second SD and Unless they really do something crazy i'll never own anything else again, what a great truck..
I would recommend any of the shackle kits. You don't want to add a spring to the pack, this just makes the ride stiffer. Look for a kit with a trac bar drop bracket, and you can keep the OEM shocks up to a 3" shackle kit. All the kits should include any hardware you will need to complete the install.
I have the Rough Country kit 3.5 & 1" leveling kit in mine.

It was A very well built kit. I like it. The shocks that came with the kit are a different story. Don't order the shocks. All four were leaking in less than A year, and thats the good part. I replaced them with Edelbrock IAS shocks and I love them. The ride is much better now almost back to the stock ride.
If I was doing it over I would try the hanger kits with the IAS shocks. Just my $.02

The hood is made by goodhood, steel cowl hood, Nice product, My body guy was most impressed with it. he said very little prep work to paint it and he has done many. I believe the hood was $600.00 and then $200.00 for paint. V10 emblems where made by my local vinal sign shop. You probably cant see the emblems very well but they match the Ford V10 emblem, and match the color of the 4x4 off road decal on rear quarter

My brother and I just put a leveling kit on his 02 Super Duty crew cab. Bought it from Les Schwab and we installed it. Very easy to install. It took us 2 hours, and that included adding the new tires and wheels.
I found a rough country leveling kit on ebay for 69 bucks,, Thats cheap enough, but does it have everything i need? The shackle kits seem to range from 4-500 bucks,, at that price it seems that a 4" Lift kit would almost be better?Although not sure that i want to lift the whole truck, I would prefer to just level it though. Decisions, decisions.. Hard to believe a shackle kit is 400 bucks or more. At times I think there is to much Info here, as one can get very confused LOL..!!!
i know when i put a shackle kit on my 99 back when it was new, it came with 4 shocks and was around 325.00 damn if i can remember who made it though. with the kit installed, i ran BFG 315's without any interference... and it retained the factory ride. now, i have to find a kit for the new 350 that i'm picking up tomorrow!
Well i picked mine up a couple days ago,,, so keep in touch and maybe between the 2 of us we can come up with something.
Cantg say that I have found any leveling kits for 325.00 that came with shocks too.. If I was to get the rough country leveling kit wont i need to get brackets to drop the panhard bar and pitman arm too? 2" is still 2",,,, at least thats what my woman keeps saying
i didn't change the pitman arm or add a different bracket for the panard rod. the only way i could re attach the panhard rod was to start the truck, and let the power steering assist me in getting it back close to where it was supposed to go. other than a bit more bump steer than i like, everything ran fine for 115k miles
On the 3.5 leveling kit, came with a panard lowering bracket, fit perfect. No pitman arm. Steering wheel was of by 90deg when I was done with the lift. Alignment guy had no problem getting alignment perfect. I watched him do it, he said there was plenty of adjustment left.

So if I get the rough country kit for 69 bucks i guess i will have to find a dropped bracket for the panard bar. I just dont know about the shackel kits,, Not sure if i'm comfortable with that.!! Add a leafs seem way more safe to me, even of to does mean a little rougher ride. I just want it to be right so that 3 or 4 years from now it dont come back and bite me in the Butt..!!!
