fuel pressure regulator

I have an 85 f250 with a 460, I have electric fuel pumps and had a leaky fuel pressure regulator. The stock had an inlet, outout and return line as best as I could tell. aftermarket parts do not have return line outlets. I have been running with an aftermarket for about 2 or 3 years. Any problems associated with this. Thanks

Sounds like you are in the best position to tell us whether there are any problems associated with doing this.... or maybe you would need to put a stock one back on and compare with the last couple of years ....

They may have called it a regulator, but really all it does is let a portion of the fuel delivered to the carb, be circulated back to the tank.
This whole system with the electric pumps and return line was for 460 carb units only, and is called "hot fuel handling". Circulating the fuel back to the tank keeps the fuel moving in the system, giving less of a chance of it vapor locking in hot weather. I have a theory that a lot of these trucks and vans were designed to be used in the service industry where the vehicles sit around for long periods of time idling in hot weather, and this system helped keep the fuel cooler.
