Self Spinners?

so i was thinking today, you all know the popularity of those new spinner wheels on all the lux suvs? i was thinking, what if you made a spinner rim that never stopped sinning, like using electro magnets or something of that sort....what you all think??

I think he's being serious.

I think the key is perpetual motion, the holy grail of engineering. Ha ha.

The question you have to ask is does this new spinner continue spinning after you shut off the car. That could open a whole new can of worms in the way of children losing fingers.

Your idea is definitely doable.

it would be relitively easy, if you wanted to use an electric motor you could design a system to pass electricity through the spindle, this is somewhat ease, it is all in the casting of the spindle. or you could build a battery into the wheel amd tire and have the spining part generate electricty as it was going down the road. Then use the stored electrical energy to keep the wheel spining.

see, now i was thinking about using an electromagnet to creat my perpetual motion...kinda. it would all have to be built in, which like you said, bad news, and it would all have to be battery powered, contained within the wheel itself. still pretty cool idea i think anyway.

What does one of those wheels cost? I think it is one of the dumest things ever invented.

I will admit to having a flying saucer on my tonneu cover that starts to spin at 30 mph and is making about 60 rpm at 70.

The closest most "SUV's" get to "off road " is the Driveway.

true true, but i am seeing something big here. heard somewhere that 80% of "4wds" today never get put in 4wd their entire life spans....i dunno though, i sure use mins a lot. my old man is about ready to disown me cause hes worried im gunna trash the hell out of it. but anyway, can you see a market....just think how stupid it would have seemed to actually make spinners in the first place..

Just go out and get the fake spinner hub cabs and start from there. U can get those at wally world. Just start your idea there and see how easy or hard it would be to make it work.

Keep em balanced- thats the trick.

I've had a similar idea for another rim gadget.

get yourself a inventors kit & have this idea pantented ASAP. If you don't you may lose the idea.

If you patent it, you will have legal finacial recourse over anything similiar to your idea that may hit the market before you have started anything.

I would run the power source though the spindle & have it activated with the ignition keys.

But by the way our society is going those little kids are not going to need there fingers anyways, they got computer with voice activation.

Have a small unseen neon behind each spinner. I don't car that stuff to much, but you will make your cash off all the young ones & rappers.

Can we say wacky wall walker?
even the guy who invented the stop light was told he was wasting his time. Did that make him give up & stop? NO. Those damn things are always RED when I get to them.
