PowerChip question...

Can I install a chip in my truck like the DiabloSport chips ?
I do I tell if my rig is chipped right now?
It's the 1994 7.3 IDI,it has the oversized pistons and bigger rods.
The controller conector is under the dash and the mechanics hook up to it.
Can I purchase a controller?

if it really is an 7.3 idi it has a mechanicly controlled fuel system.cant install a chip for more power, gotta do it the old fashioned way,yep you gotta get dirty!ford did offer the 7.3 di power stroke in 94 if have a connector under the dash you may have the power stroke.do have a injection pump with steel lines running to all eight cylinders or not.the power stroke is an electronicly controlled fuel system and this engine would use the chip. you sure the connector is not for the auto trans,if you have an auto that is.

Ok I have the injection pump and steel lines to each cyl.,so it's unchipable!
And yes I have the E40D Auto trans with OD,thats what the connector under the dash is.
Thanks for the info.

You can still do all the old stuff to make that thing go. Turn up the pump and wastegate. New exhaust and turbo housings. More money than a chip though.
