Are daytime running lamps a programming change or are there parts involved? I live out in the the land of long flat roads with idiot drivers who pass unsafely so I want to be seen coming. Thanks
My suggestion is to just turn on your lights. I know! I know! Duh! You already knew that! I'm not trying to insult your intelligence, and I know that you're probably looking for something automatic but it IS the easiest method, wouldn't you say?
I suppose... sigh... I just figured that since it has an auto lamp for when it gets dark that it would already be ready for daytime running lamps with a simple program change.
My '02 F-250 has the auto lamps and when I have the switch in the auto position you can pull it out and then the fog lights come on and run all the time, like daytime running lamps. I use them when it's kinda rainy instead of turning on headlights.
Buy a truck from Canada. It's standard (by law) issue up here. In fact, we're usually busy trying to devise ways to disable daytime running lights!
Seriously though, a lot (like 70-80%) of lease return Superduties in Canada are shipped over the border for resale. I know they have to change out the speedometers, but I'd guess they don't bother with headlights.
