what motor????
imn my auto shop class we have a 79 f-250 4x4 we cant figure out what motor its got in it its got a 460 intake manifold and heads but cant figure out what motor it is we think its a 429. the guy (who ones the beast) thinks its a 429... thanks for any help....

They didn't put 460's in 4x4's in '79, so it was swapped in and could be either. Get the numbers off the heads just above the manifold and block numbers behind the starter and maybe we can tell you what it is.The only way to be absolutly sure what it is by the numbers on the crankshaft.
