How well do they fit? Any problems you ran into? 4WD application? I already have duals and was wondering if these babies will fit. It says they fir the stock y pipe so I guess they will fit my stock y pipe. Will they fit with 4WD and manual shifter?
BTW it says they are for 1996 F150's does it matter that much? Will it fit on my '94?
I know an exhaust leak sounds pretty obviouse, but I had a "ticking noise" towards the back of my engine. I had just installed FMS shorty headers, and just figured they were coming loose near the back. Tighened them down, no effect. Tighened the stupid screw-in plug that ford outs on the back of the passenger side header, no effect.
Turns out, the tube that goes between each head and leads to the air pump check valve at the back of the block was rusting out, and it WAS and exhaust leak I was hearing. So maybe get a light and check that too, cheap fix.
Check the thermacetor pipe on the rear of the heads if your engine has one. I just had to fix mine as it had a rust hole in it. It made a very loud ticking noise.
It connects at the back of each cylinder head. Its for the emission system. Is about 5/8 in diameter and about 18" long, you can't miss it. Exhaust gases go through it from the thermacator bumps in your exhaust ports.
