I just wanted to say Hi. We've had our 1998 Expedition since February of last year and I love it. I do have a couple of questions maybe y'all could help out with. When I put it in 4H, the dash indicator will flip back and forth between the AWD and 4H....but if I click it to 4L and back to 4H it doesn't do that. Is the switch known to work like that? I'm thinking it's just not completely "clicking" into 4H....????
Also, any other problems with others and their rear axle bearings? Ours seems to be leaking.....
Thanks in advance for any help I might be able to get
Oh, it's the 4.6L XLT model.

Look under your dashboard and see if there's any rust or water stains in your fusebox or anywhere else under there on that side. Some of the Expy's were prone to a leak that would go un-noticed until all sorts of electrical gremlins started manifesting themselves, usually caused by a rusted fusebox and or a ruined GEM module. Or it could be dirty contacts in the switch.I'd bet on the switch though. My 98 had a bunch of switches that went bad and had to be replaced, starting with Ford's infamous MFS,multi funtion switch, which controls the turn signals, high and low beams, etc. Every Ford product I've had except my new 2003 had to have the MFS replaced within 5 or 6 years from new. Good luck,I hope you get great service and lots of enjoyment from your Expy.
With all those Mopars you're probably used to weird electrical problems though.LOL

LOL...actually, our mini mopars don't have many electrical problems, head gaskets are the biggie with them Right now the GLHS needs the intermediate shaft from the cam to the distributor replaced (we think). They are some fun little cars though I will check under the dash, thank you so much. Also, we have the same problems with the high beam/turn signal switch also.....she works for me pretty well, I wrote it up to being "personal glitches" since she IS female and all. Her and I get along great.....especially in the snow. Haven't had the opportunity to mudding yet, but spring is coming!
