Do you suppose by chance that the "powers to be" at Ford read the dissapointed remarks about poor performance and low gas mileage we write about on this forum? Do you think they would introduce some form of retrofit to improve these short coming's .My xlt sprcab 4x4 5.4 3;73 axle with only 300 miles is dissapointing. Most everthing else seem's nice.
This eng rated at 300 hp nothing like 300hp in the days of muscle car's. I think it need's some GERITOL.

why are you guys such downers ?
they care trust me on this and if you cared as much as you cry here, you could get somthing done about your concerns.
if they did not care then they would not have upgraded a great truck to a fantastic truck.
now as far as milage how many miles do you have on the truck and in what conditions?(weather)as for the sluggish feel just look at the speedo! this is a high torx truck not a mustang which is alot less bulky.put some miles on the truck let it learn your driving it will improve as it learns. do as i did drive it awhile and then get in a dodge or gm or toy, or nis,and you will know why you own the best built truck on the road. we care, i care!
Ford cares about its customers. They have to care. If they dont then they dont get any repeat buyers.
The thing Ford should do is get more control over their dealer network. They are the ones who can make or break a product. We have plenty of Ford "stealerships" around here.
Why do you think they have the 800 number FIREWALL ??????? (that they pay dearly for). Why do you think thoses folks aren't Ford employees, but a sub-contracted service (plausable deniability, maybe?)
They only care about customers in-so-far as they want YOU to buy a vehicle this, or next, quarter. ANything beyond that is long-term thinking for them.
If ford REALLY cared about the customer, they'd start with cleaning house the dealer level. don't you think they KNOW that a SIGNIFICANT number of their dealers are one step removed from organized crime? THEY DON"T CARE as long as the dealer makes its sales numbers.
If you believe anything else, you'd better have a reality check with yourself.
caddy53 and several others here, a total BS post to me. You say it has just "300" miles. You say it is "disapointing " but you dont give a sniff of a clue as to what you are talking about. Save your geritol and put it in the gas tank of your Dodge and Gm products. Or better yet, drink that geritol as you limp into your factory job at the dodge and GM plant.
Hi Nike,
go, go, go...buy a 5,4 lt. I'd a 4,5 lt, very nervous ! But I prefer the 5,4 4x4 I've now. It's a little bit slower to go; but it's a 5stars to ride !
Good lock
1) Yes, it's my understanding that Ford does check in here, regularly.
2) 300 miles is nowhere near enough miles to judge the performance of ANY new vehicle. I tell every one of my customers that they need to get 3,000-5,000 miles on the vehicle, THEN they'll feel the proper performance and get the mileage they should.
3) Does Ford CARE about their customers? Tough question, but I can tell you that they care a little MORE about their STOCKHOLDERS right now. If they truly cared about their customers as they should, they never would have released the 6.0 PSD when they did.
Thing is, Ford cares about their customers about as much as any other manufacturer. It's the American way. People still buy. Why should they go a level beyond GM, or Dodge?
And yes, I too complained about the sluggish power and poor economy when my truck was new. But now with close to 2,000 miles on it...it has come ALIVE!
